We have decided to go through our state's foster adoption agency rather than a private agency. I got a packet of application material last week and have been chipping away at it this week. We're almost done!

Forms to fill out when applying to the Oregon State DHS for foster adoption:

• Application for Approval to Care for a Child in DHS Custody including, but not limited to, references and emergency contacts, current employment, residential history, etc.
• Medical Report A to be filled out by each applicant
• Medical Report B to be filled out by each applicant's doctor
• Family Financial Report in which we detail Montly income x 12 then calculate Monthly expenses x 12 to get a yearly total, then subtract. Then note assets and employment history. Thank goodness for Quicken, that's alls I'm sayin.
• Consent for Criminal Records & Fingerprint Check for each applicant
• Foster Home Evacuation Plan Yeah, this one tickles us too. DH is plotting out the basment on VISIO, then we'll draw arrows and voila! An emergency plan! Always useful. I think we need to get a fire extinguisher for the upstairs, though, hmmm.

We're all done tonight, except for the emergency evacuation plan. Hurrah! I'd say that I deserve some ice cream if I could eat dairy, which I can't, so I'll say Coconut Bliss for me!
