Have you ever seen a baby or toddler discover the texture of silk or satin? It's true love. Preschoolers and school age children love the shimmery, drapey, ultra-soft properties of silk, too. Heck, we grown-ups can't get enough of silk, either, can we?
Dyed by my own self with packets of Kool-Aid®, these silk hankies can be used in arts and crafts for:
• silk "fairy" mobiles
• a matching playscarf set for dolly
• dolly beds, blankets, clothes
• tiny play scenery—a blue lake or rippling river, green grass, rolling hills...
• handkerchief or knot dolls for a baby
• as props for budding magicians...
the possibilities abound.
My daughter uses these as dolly clothes, beds, blankets and knapsacks (putting treasures in them, tying the ends together and carrying around the house, hobo-style) and much, more, I’m sure!
One set of Rainbow Silk Hankies includes eight 11"x 11" 100% silk handkerchiefs in these colors: Tropical Punch, Pink Lemonade, Orange, Lemonade, Arctic Green Apple, Lemon-Lime, Berry Blue, and Grape.
Consumer Information Notice: Kool-Aid® dyes silk (and wool) permanently. You can wash these in your machine, though I recommend on delicate in a mesh bag, and the colors will stay true. HOWEVER, I once treated a stain on a pink play scarf with an enzyme stain remover and the color changed to orange. I dyed it pink again and it's good as new, but, please check for colorfastness before stain-treating or you may end up with another color entirely!
